Position: Estimator - Steel

Location: Dublin West

Salary: Neg DOE


We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Estimator to join our clients team in the Mechanical Engineering industry. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost and time required to complete steel-related projects. As an Estimator, you will work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret project plans and specifications to accurately estimate steel quantities and costs.
  • Review and analyze architectural and engineering drawings to identify potential issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Provide detailed quotes for steel materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and pricing.
  • Assist with project management tasks as required.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the steel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of steel materials, fabrication, and installation processes.
  • Proficient in (software or tools commonly used in the industry).
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
