Position Overview

The General Foreman plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities on- site. With a focus on efficiency, safety, and adherence to established standards and schedules, this role ensures successful project execution.

Responsibilities

Site Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, plans, and quality standards.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and motivate on-site construction teams, including subcontractors and laborers.
  • Provide clear direction, set expectations, and cultivate a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.

Schedule and Resource Management

  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop and implement project schedules.
  • Efficiently manage on-site resources to meet project milestones and deadlines.

Safety Compliance

  • Uphold and promote a robust safety culture on-site.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Quality Control

  • Implement and uphold quality control measures to meet or surpass industry standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and address any quality-related issues promptly.

Communication

  • Facilitate transparent communication between on-site teams, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Provide timely progress reports, raise concerns, and communicate issues to project management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a General Foreman in civil engineering or construction projects, with utilities experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
