“At Elk Recruitment, we are excited to invite applications for a skilled IT Technician looking to make a meaningful impact in our clients friendly and supportive environment? You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing their IT infrastructure, with a particular focus on supporting and optimizing their ERP system. This position requires a motivated individual who can address ERP-related tasks, manage IT queries across the organization, and drive efficiency through technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT systems, SQL, or ERP platforms, and experience in fast-paced, inventory-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the ERP system, ensuring smooth operation, troubleshooting, and enhancements to meet business needs.
  • Assist with the maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and VOIP telephone systems throughout the company.
  • Provide ad-hoc IT training, support, and assistance to users on ERP systems, software, and hardware.
  • Ensure the reliable maintenance and accessibility of all IT infrastructure.
  • Research and recommend technology solutions to enhance business operations.
  • Develop business intelligence and analytics solutions to drive organizational efficiency and insights.
  • Analyse reporting requirements and create critical, high-priority reports using tools like Crystal Reports or other data analysis platforms.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in IT, with a strong emphasis on ERP system management or SQL.
  • Familiarity with inventory control systems; experience in FMCG, wholesale, or retail sectors is an advantage.
  • Passion for technology and experience with hardware, software, and network management.
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve issues proactively and independently.
  • Strong analytical and logical decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional time management, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Requirements

  • Experience with Linux and programming is highly valued and can significantly enhance the candidate's ability to contribute effectively.
  • High level of competency and confidence in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Office programs; familiarity with ERP systems (such as Prophet) is a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Punctual, organized, and efficient in managing tasks and deadlines.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programs and adapt to evolving technology quickly.
